TL;DR: GeoSuite is free software under the GNU General Public License v3.0.
Use it for any project, commercial included. Read, change and share the code under the same licence. No price, no account, no licence key. Your data stays on your computer. The results are a technical screen, not a Mineral Resource.
1. Scope
These terms cover the Orebit GeoSuite software (Core, Assay, Resource) — web, installed app and Windows desktop edition — and the geosuite.orebit.id website. The software licence itself is the GNU GPL v3.0 (section 3); nothing on this page restricts the rights that licence gives you.
2. What GeoSuite is
- Orebit Core — drillhole data validation, desurvey, cross-sections and cropping
- Orebit Assay — exploratory data analysis, top-cut, domaining and compositing
- Orebit Resource — variography, block estimation (OK, IDW, NN), validation and a preliminary confidence screen
All three run on your own computer. Files you open are processed locally and are not sent to Orebit.
3. Licence: GNU GPL v3.0
The source code is published at github.com/ghoziankarami/geosuite under the GNU General Public License, version 3. In short, and the licence text governs:
- You may use GeoSuite for any purpose, including commercial consulting and company work, on any number of computers.
- You may read, study and modify the code, and run your modified version.
- You may share GeoSuite, modified or not, provided you share it under GPL-3.0 with its source code and keep the copyright and licence notices.
- Your data and your results are yours. The GPL does not apply to the data you process or the files you export.
Third-party components (Plotly, jsPDF, fonts) keep their own licences, listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES in the repository. Sample and tutorial datasets are credited to their publishers under their own licences (for example Thalanga: Geological Survey of Queensland, CC BY 4.0).
4. Name and logo
The GPL covers the code, not the Orebit name and logo. If you distribute a modified version, give it a name that makes clear it is not the official Orebit release.
5. Support Orebit (voluntary)
There is no charge for GeoSuite and no paid tier. If it is useful to you, you can support its maintenance with a voluntary contribution of any amount via Saweria, an independent platform. A contribution buys nothing and is never required.
6. No warranty; not a Mineral Resource
As the GPL states, the software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. GeoSuite is a data-preparation and estimation-screening tool. Its confidence tiers are a computational screen and are deliberately not called Measured, Indicated or Inferred.
- GeoSuite does not produce or certify a Mineral Resource or Ore Reserve under KCMI 2017, JORC 2012, NI 43-101 or any other code.
- Public reporting requires a Competent Person's review of the geology, QA/QC, density, estimation and modifying factors.
- You are responsible for checking every output before relying on it.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Orebit and the contributors are not liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the software, including loss of data, profits or business interruption (GPL-3.0 sections 15–16).
8. Privacy
See the Privacy Policy. In short: your files are processed on your computer and never uploaded.
9. Governing law
These website terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. The software licence is the GPL-3.0 as published by the Free Software Foundation.
10. Changes
We may update this page; the date above changes when we do. A version of GeoSuite you received under GPL-3.0 stays under GPL-3.0.
